Saturday Roll Call

Good Morning PA:

Yesterday was a wonderful day for Gene's graduation.  His mentors/instructors for the program had so many wonderful things to say about him, brought me to tears to see that others do see what I see in my bestest buddy.  Now Gene has to complete all the paperwork to actually apply for and sit for his exam for state licensure.

Did not get out of the graduation in time to make the family meeting in person.  Did get a call from my brother that dad was being released from the hosptal to go home, Saturday, today.  I told my brother that I had spoken to the social worker earlier and the reason he was not going to skilled nursing was because dad refused. My dad never told my brother he refused, and my brother does not ask questions when in these meetings, instead he'll agree to whatever is suggested.  My dad is actually in no shape to come home yet, due to needing a catheter for about another week.  There is no one at his house that can take care of that.  So I asked my brother if he needed me to come to the hospital to work with the social worker and dad to get him into skilled nursing since my brother didn't want to tell them that he works and cannot do the home care that dad needs right now.  By the time Gene and I got to the hospital dad is now scheduled to go to skilled nursing today for about 22 days.  I figured my brother would spring into action once I said I was on my way to clean up the mess he'd created although I did not say it that way, I was nice.

Prior to leaving the house the contractors told us they needed the dimensions of the vanity and sink for the second floor bathroom since they are starting the rough in work on that this coming Monday, we got that accomplished as well as some of the other finishing touches for the other 3 bathrooms.

All in all until the craziness with my dad and brother it was a wonderful day off yesterday.

Today have to take Hider to the vet for her yearly shots.  Then Gene and I actually might have some time together.

Hope everyone has a great day...

Good Morning Ida and PA Peeps,
Congratulations to Gene.  That is awesome.  I never went to my grad school commencement.  I received my diploma in the mail in August, because I finished nine credits in summer school and Temple only has one ceremony in May.  By then, I was dealing with the state about my license.

Glad to hear that things worked out to get your father into the rehab facility.  I understand those family dynamics a lot.  I am grateful that my Mom is still healthy and sound minded to live independently.  At 85, she is a pistol, and we still butt heads a lot.

By the way, I won't be working at NHS.  I was hired at Brooke Glen Behaviora Hospital as a per diem social worker.  I used to work there as a part time group therapist.  NHS has yet to process me, and I was interviewed in December.

Today is a busy day for me.  I have a podiatrist appointement and then a therapy appointment this afternoon.  I also want to make my AA meeting this morning, and I am working on two different sewing projects.  I posted pics on Facebook of the last three projects.  Two sundresses for Izzy, and a pair of coveralls for Lincoln.  I have one more sundress to make for Izzy, and another coveralls for Lincoln to make before next weekend.

Stay cool and hydrated everyone.

Huggles,
Trish

Good Morning Pa!!!

Ida--so glad to hear everything went well for Gene's graduation and that you were able to get things straightened out for your dad. Enjoy your day today!!

As for me...heading over to the mall to find a nice maternity dress I can wear to my step-daughter's graduation on Monday.  Then coming home to clean the house since we will be having Stacey's mom and her husband, sister and brother over for cake etc after the ceremony. Also need to clean up the younger step-daughter room as she will be spending weekends with us for the summer starting Friday..So I have to find sheets etc to get her room organized as well.

Then perhaps I will find some time to organize some things inthe nursery and on top of that DO REPORT CARDS! LOL  Not an exciting weekend but not a laid back one either.

Hope everyone stays dry today! Those thunderstorms were bad this a.m.!!!

Have a great Saturday!!

Much luv!!

Good Morning Ida and PA!

Congratulations to Gene!! Glad you had a nice day to enjoy it!

Today I am on my own! Dee is at the campground with her brownie troop and hubby is at work! Whatever will I do?? I am going to try to catch up on some sleep that I didn't get last night. I don't know what was up with that? I woke up around 2am and could not get back to sleep until around 4am. I was on FB and then watched some TV which lulled me back to sleep! Woke up about an hour ago, drinking coffee and enjoying the peace and quiet!! Tonight we are getting together with some friends and going to Blue Sage Restaurant. I have heard so many good things about it and I am excited to go for the first time!!

That is it for me!
Have a great Saturday!!
Love to all, Beth

Good morning everyone - Ida please pass along my congrats to Gene as well - that's wonderful!

I almost started roll call at 4:00 am! I woke up at 2:30 with a raging headache, upset tummy and literally wide awake. Laid in bed til 3:30'and got up - took something for my head and had a small bo of cereal then laid on the couch and finally fell back to sleep sometime after 4. Weird.

But yesterday I had an awesome day - got my mani-pedi first thing then saw the ortho doctor. He gave me 2 cortisone shots in my left shoulder. The other shots lasted about 6 months but I can't have any more so if it comes back I'll probably be facing surgery.

Went to the consignment shop with a big bag of pocketbooks. She took all but one so that was good. And don't you know I bought one while I was there!! It's a beautiful JM white tote bag.

Then it was on to the new stylist and hair salon - wow what a place! They serve complimentary wine, beer, soft drinks and tea, fruit, snacks and homemade cookies. Omg they smiled incredible!! Since I stopped on my there for a coffee I didn't partake of any of their goodies but the girl did a great job on my hair and it was cheaper than where I usually go.

Then I stopped and picked up sandwiches for dinner and started laundry.

Today is groceries and cleaning. Tomorrow its off to Florida!!

Happy weekend everyone.

Kathy

Congratulations to Gene!

I got to the gym early today for a workout, then picked up some groceries on the way home. There is a craft show in our downtown area so took the long way home on the back roads.

Mike was scheduled to be away this weekend again, but decided against it because he just has too many priorities here. So I will put together dinner for him later on - he is eating healthy low carb foods and has lost almost 30 pounds - which makes him look terrific! So we will have some steamed veggies and maybe a meat loaf tonight , and plenty of leftovers for tomorrow.

Other than that, I want to do some writing this weekend. My writing classes are ramping up again and I am tossing around the idea of registering for a full week class in August, in New Hampshire. Just a thought for now but I will need to decide.

For all those doing outdoor activitieis, today - may the rain hold off wherever you are!
